Refund Policy

Last updated 6 September 2026

We would rather refund somebody than keep money they are unhappy about. This page says exactly when we will, so you do not have to guess or negotiate.

Your first subscription

Full refund within 14 days, for any reason, on your first paid subscription. You do not need to explain yourself. Email hello@cooknlist.com from the address on your account and we will refund it and put you back on the free plan.

Renewals

A renewal you did not mean to pay for is refundable pro rata within 7 days, provided you have not used Premium features in that period. In practice: if it renewed, you noticed, and you had not touched it, you get the unused part back.

Beyond that window, a subscription runs to the end of the period you paid for. You can cancel at any point and keep Premium until then.

How to cancel

In the app, go to Account, open your subscription, and choose Cancel subscription. It takes one click, there is nobody to talk to, and you keep Premium until the period you have paid for runs out. Nothing you have saved is deleted; you simply return to the free plan.

If something is broken

If Premium was not working and that is why you want your money back, tell us what happened. We will refund the affected period regardless of the windows above, and fix the problem.

How refunds are paid

Back to the card you paid with, through Stripe. Stripe usually takes five to ten working days to return it, which is their timing rather than ours.

Your legal rights

This policy is in addition to whatever your local consumer law gives you, not instead of it. If you are in the UK or the EU, your statutory right to cancel a digital service within 14 days applies and is not affected by anything written here.

Asking

Email hello@cooknlist.com from the address on your account. Tell us which subscription and, if you want to, why. We aim to answer within two working days.

The full agreement is in our Terms of Service.
